What type of car insurance should I get in Michigan?

Category : Car Insurance

I understand that Michigan is a no-fault state, and as a result everyone gets this PLPD insurance or something. I’m moving from Pennsylvania and had full coverage on my car for about $90/month. I thought PA and MI were both no-fault, but it seems different and the rates I’m being quoted for the same insurance in MI are higher. I’m so confused!! Also, right now I am on State Farm. I’m 25 but on my mom’s plan, and I am getting married/changing my last name and I now live in Michigan so it is past time for me to pay for my own insurance.
Right now I’m on State Farm, and there are agents both here and in PA, but their rates seem to be high.

What type of life insurance do you have and why you have it?

Category : Life Insurance

I used to own whole life insurance until I learned the hard way about the truth behind it. A life agent said cash value was a great way to build savings for retirement and that I can use it anytime. That sounded pretty great and so me and my husband bought it. About 28 years later, he died in an accident. The life insurance paid the death claim about 30 days after I filed a claim. But all the cash value was gone! With the cash value, I could of used it for my retirement.

So now I got rid of my whole life and paid a surrender charge on the cash value. The mortgage is paid off and no one is dependant on my income anymore. So I don’t need life insurance. I moved about $45,000 of cash value into various investments.

All I have to say to people buying life insurance is do your own research about life insurance before listening to life insurance agents.

What type of income can you make selling commercial group insurance?

Category : Commercial Insurance

I am considering a career change into commercial insurance sales. I am wondering what the job is like and how well it pays.
By commercial the company sales insurance companies buy to cover their assets. They also sell group health, but that is only one area they work. They have about 10 types of coverage they offer, and the group health for employees is only one of those. Sounds like a slightly better situation. Anyone familiar with this bigger picture?

Why is home insurance limited to each and every different type of disaster?

Category : Home Insurance

The home is either livable or NOT livable…it matters NOT what disaster ruined the home..

Why then is it that you have to pay extra for each different type of circumstance? An accident is an accident…. a disaster is a disaster… the home can only be burned, flooded, distroyed by earthquake / tornado / hurricaine ONCE.. why pay for all the different ways insurance-wise?

How covered is covered? And WHY !!!! Why?? Is it if you Never have any type of claim you aren’t refunded some of that money you spend year after year after year?

Again, once you’ve paid in insurance the amount of the home value.. what difference does it make if you replaced the home ‘money-wise’ already in insurance premiums? Why not spend those premiums on a second home instead?

Just shooting in the dark here of the many complaints I have heard ranted from my elders recently.. their solutions were hysterical.. I’d love to hear more solutions.
